Toy story cake
Toy story cake for Felipe came out cute. I had a few issues rolling out the fondant as this was a big cake and my table was not big enough! Other than that I am happy with it. Hope that the birthday boy was happy and enjoys it!

sock monkey cake
With a name like silly monkey cakes, I HAD to do a sock money cake... I hope to do more monkey cakes as they are my favorite! :)
White bow cake
I have wanted to practice making bows since they can be used on so many cakes.... I think I have the shaping part down now and just have to get them a bit smoother.
Butterfly Cake and Free Hand Stripes
Mini cakes
To get some fondant work in, I have made some mini cakes this weekend. Here are a few of the hand painted ones. I will also post individual pics of them :)

Cake Pops
Today I had a test run making Cake pops. They came out pretty yummy... I think so at least. My official taste testers approved as well. As you can see , I made strawberry cake pops as my oldest requested them to be pink, but they can be made with any cake and any chocolate or candy melt color. They make great party favors......Yummy! :)

marshmallow fondant practice
Fishie cake
50th birthday cake
First attempt at fondant
This was the very first time I had tried playing with fondant. I have never been a real fan of the taste , but you can't deny the results. It makes a beautiful cake. Not this one, but it does make beautiful cakes. I think I stayed up too late playing with this one as I was getting giggly and not as focused as I cold have been. That's probably why it came out the way it did! I made this for another friend's daughter's second birthday. It tasted yummy .. I only wish it had come out better.
Cinderella's castle cake
First real cake
So this was my first real cake. I say real cake because I had made cakes before just for the sake of dessert, (Those who know me know how much I love dessert! ) but this was my first cake of something. Jolee said that she wanted a pink and purple princess cake for her 4th birthday. After visiting several bakeries, including publix... no one could do quite what we wanted , and the one who could wanted to charge an outrageous price. I decided I could do better.... and this was the result. We all have to start somewhere I guess.
The Beginning
So here it is.. The very beginning. Of what.... I'm not sure yet, but it's something. I made a cake for my daughter's 4th birthday and had so much fun. It was a lot of work, but to see the look on her face it was all worth it. I have made a few since then and the ball just keeps rolling. I am looking forward to taking some classes to further my skills this month, but I am excited what this might bring. As long as I keep getting smiles with every cake, it will be worth it. We'll see where this leads.....
