Baby shower cake

This is a cake that I made for my best friend's baby shower and her little girl Grace on the way :)  I chose the owl theme because the bedding for her room is the pottery barn owls.   It was vanilla almond cake with cream cheese frosting.

The gorgeous mama to be with the cake :)

Golf course cake

Here is the second cake that I made for the Jessica Rose Golf tournament, and it is of course a golf cake. This is actually the fourth hole of the Summerfield course that  was played today.  It was chocolate  pudding cake with Vanilla buttercreme . This was a massive cake!  You can't tell from the pic but I had to make it today, the day of the tournament since it wouldn't fit in my fridge!  The golfers seemed to like it :)

Jessica Rose Foundation cake

Today was the first Annual Jessica Rose Foundation Golf Tournament.  Since this is a charity that I love, I had to be a part of the day one way or another. So of course I made the cakes for the dinner and awards banquet.  This first cake is the foundation's logo ( check out the next post for the second cake I made).  It was vanilla almond cake with vanilla buttercreme, covered in fondant .  Everyone seemed to enjoy it!  :) I hope so.  If you want more info on this amazing charity, please check out their website:  http://www.jessicarosefoundation.org/

Toy story cake

Toy story cake for Felipe came out cute. I had a few issues rolling out the fondant as this was a big cake  and my table was not big enough!   Other than that I am happy with it. Hope that the birthday boy was happy and enjoys it!

sock monkey cake

With a name like silly monkey cakes, I HAD to do a sock money cake... I hope to do more monkey cakes as they are my favorite!  :)

White bow cake

I have wanted to practice making bows  since they can be used on so many cakes.... I think I have the shaping part down now and just have to get them a bit smoother.

Butterfly Cake and Free Hand Stripes

Here is the painted butterflies . I love the way the grass came out :)

These are hand painted stripes that I did at about midnight so I am not super happy with the way they came out. I will definitely use a ruler next time!

Cake Pops

Today I had a test run making Cake pops. They came out pretty yummy... I think so at least. My official taste testers approved as well. As you can see , I made strawberry cake pops as my oldest requested them to be pink, but they can be made with any cake and any chocolate or candy melt color. They make great party favors......Yummy! :)

marshmallow fondant practice

Some friends were coming over for dinner so I decided to make a cake. I wanted to practice using Marshmallow fondant as well, so here it is. I didn't to as much decorative work as originally planned, but it came out cute and simple.

Fishie cake

Just for practice.. I asked Jolee to give me an idea. She said a fishie cake, so here it is :) Again this is with regular fondant.
